This is a well equipped, very comfortable home in a beautiful country setting will meet your every need while in Ashland. Clean, fresh interior with four bedrooms and two new bathrooms. Sparkling hardwood floors and newly remodeled complete kitchen and bathrooms with concrete countertops make this country cottage feel substantial and satisfying.
This property is close to town, just under two miles to Lithia Park.
The Bedrooms:
The four bedrooms vary in size from fairly large to tiny (and then two are mid sized). They all have queen sized beds, all with the same microfiber sheets and duvet (hypoallergenic) covers. The rooms all have throw blankets or pillows, bedspreads to give them a little individual personality.
Someone could sleep on the couch. Kids (or adults) can sleep on nice rollout cots. If this is a reunion for adults kids, grandkids and grandparents, go ahead and have 8 cousins on the living room floor. I get it, no problem.
Each bed has a side table and lamp on each side, and a little charger set up not attached to the switched power. Each bedroom has a midweight duvet and top sheet, but also an extra blanket or two. So you can sleep just under the top sheet or under layers of blankets, whatever you prefer. Each bed has four pillows or two each possible sleeper.
The Bathrooms:
There are two bathrooms, one large bathroom with a deep soaking tub off of the largest bedroom. The smaller bathroom is shared by the three smaller bedrooms. It has a shower with new subway tile surround and a glass door.
The Kitchen:
The kitchen was just refreshed with new concrete countertops and subway and pretty neutral paint. There is a standard electric stovetop and oven, a dishwasher and a microwave. Coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, electric tea pot.
We scoured the lists of what should be included in a standard full kitchen and we got EVERYTHING. There is stemware and dishes for 10, if you need more just ask. Really, I don't mind, and I live right up the street.
The Living Room:
There is a super soft and comfy leather sectional and loveseat in the living room. The smart TV and electric fireplace make the living room a very cozy place to hangout.
The smart tv has roku: so hulu, netflix etc in the living room, please remember to bring your own log in. High speed internet is installed, and the provider very reliable.
The Dining Room:
The dining table is huge and can seat 9 as it is set up, long benches on each side and a chair on the end. The table might be a little big for the space, but we love it and it has been in our family for a million years (I refinished it).
The table can be rearranged to seat a few more people if needed.
The Land:
This home is on 16 acres. The property was once a thriving, lush hayfield. Because of the extreme drought, we have not had anything approaching enough irrigation in the last three years. This setting is bucolic, but the landscaping is not yet special. We will continue to work on the property, but the please know that the landscaping of this home is a little bare.
There is a ton of fenced space in the backyard of the to play with your dog(s) but a determined dog can easily slip under a gate to the front yard, so you probably want to always supervise. Please do remember that the front yard is open to East Main Street. It's not very busy, but cars do travel at about 40 miles per hour.
The back deck is great and view inspiring, but it in the winter it can be breezy.
The whole house, deck and front and back yard on the house side of the galvanized mesh fence is all yours to use. Please, do not pass through any closed gates if you should find them unlocked. The garage is used by me for another business (that smells great!) and I'll be in and out, but you'll never notice from the house, as I enter from a door at the driveway.
Your dogs are welcome, but please know the yard is not tightly fenced and there is a fairly busy road in the front yard. A determined dog can get out easily, please supervise your dogs while they are outside.
We have a helper that that works in the garage and also shop in the far back part of the property, you may see a gold truck or a red car driving in the distance on the property, no one will approach you or the home without prior notice, or at your request.
